Tricky little job today. We had a built-in washing machine that wasn't draining, usually this is
due to a blockage in the pump filter - which it was this time. However on this occasion the blockage, a couple of coins, was also jamming the cap to the filter.
To solve this issue I removed the door to ease access to the machine. I then applied a really useful formula that helps one to move white goods on kitchen floors with ease - furniture polish. After sliding the machine out I tipped it against a cupboard door (as photographed ) which have me access to the pump filter housing.
Once I gained access to the filter housing it was just a case of disconnecting it from the pump itself by removing three screws, unclipping the inlet and outlet hoses, and emptying the filter that way.
I have seen many filter caps broken and having to be replaced by people forcing them open when this kind of thing happens. All you need is furniture polish and a screw driver!
